So sorry about the long absence. I have been busy with the holidays and family. I have also decided to go back to school. So I have been making some new recipes lately one of which was the Skillet Chicken Stew from the Foodie Army Wife. Find the recipe here... http://thefoodiearmywife.com/skillet-chicken-stew/ . I absolutely LOVE her blog. She always has great recipes and I have followed her for years. The stew is made in a cast iron skillet and is a big hit with my whole family. I made a from scratch cornbread to go with it (also baked in a cast iron skillet.) Today I made bread and took to my Dear's father, he so lovingly told me until I brought him bread there would be no more using their camp site at the river. Well as you can see from these pictures taken two weekends ago on our last camping trip there, it was worth the effort.
